Asking for Help
Don't Hesitate to Ask for Help!
Everyone needs help at some times in their life but seeking help is often a difficult thing to do. It can feel lonely, and sometimes scary. We all have our pride and we don't like being in a position where we need to ask for help. We don't want to bother other people with our requests.
But in reality, most people like to help others and make a difference in their lives as it makes them feel good - happy even - when they are able to help others.
Howlong Community Connect was set up to provide a place where people can request and offer assistance to other Howlong community members.
What Sort of Help Can You Ask For?
It may be something as simple as needing help with walking your dog if you are unwell,
Whatever kind of help you need, Howlong Community Connect will endeavour to connect you with the wonderful people in our local community who are willing to assist.
How to Ask for Help?
There are two ways to contact the Admins of HCC:
Post anonymously on the Howlong Community Connect Facebook page asking an Admin to contact you
Send an email to Admin@Howlong-Community-Connect.com
No matter which way you contact us, an Admin will reply to you privately and confidentially.
If you need help of any kind, please contact HCC to see if we can assist you. If we are unable to help out, we will endeavour to direct you to organisations that can provide the assistance you need.
or help with your gardening or pruning your roses because your arthritis doesn't like the cold weather,
or help with a frustrating computer problem,
or maybe you need temporary help with housework or preparing meals for your family because you're suffering an injury or illness,
or maybe some days it's a choice between buying food for family meals or paying the mortgage/rent, or paying other bills. At this tough time, receiving a hamper of food for a family meal would really help.
Note that HCC relies totally on food donations from our small community and is therefore only able to provide "emergency" help with food hampers.
If you need ongoing help, there are several organisations in nearby towns that can assist in this way. Refer to the list of organisations here if you need this kind of help.
